We have over 25 years of experience helping families, entrepreneurs and business owners with their business and investing journeys, with a historical focus in asset management and related financial service sectors.

 

This has included advising our past and current clients on strategic planning, succession planning, equity compensation and alignment of interests, capital raising, M&A and investing.  We have helped those families and entrepreneurs create, grow and preserve wealth, while gaining deep expertise about investment management products, private market offerings and wealth management needs and solutions. 

 

And, we have been on the entrepreneurial journey ourselves - starting companies, running companies, managing succession and selling our companies.  We learned where we and others needed the most support in planning, organizing and executing on their business and investing journeys to get where they want to go.

Why we do this

We do it for two reasons -- to help others and to help ourselves

For Others

We saw entrepreneurs who were starting M&A discussions, but hadn't set up an equity incentive program or done all the tax planning they needed.  Or they had little experience in M&A, so didn't know the steps to be taking 5 years, 3 years and one year before the event.  Often there wasn't the time available to accomplish that, so it ended up as a higher cost than necessary.  

So we built a plan to keep entrepreneurs on target to achieve their goals and maximize their value.

For Ourselves

We had to manage our businesses, ownership succession and sales processes.  We learned a lot.  

We saw the need to stay organized, and the effort to do so, as our lives got more complex financially.  So we built a way to organize ourselves so that both we and our families had the necessary information.

Additionally, we had some financial knowledge gaps and special needs members in our family that needed to be addressed.  So we learned how to do that by closing the knowledge gaps and planning for our special needs family members.

Lastly, given we had over 25 years working with and analyzing asset managers, private equity and financial products "from the insider", we began to plan and implement our investing journeys.  And we found that many families appreciate support in select areas, too.
